Lancaster City
A Lancaster Christmas - Discover how Christmas traditions have evolved over time. Historically-recreated settings depict the many changing ways that Christmas has been celebrated for each decade from 1850 through 1960. There will also be a special tribute to F. W. Manheim Poe Evermore - Spend an atmospheric evening of Gothic gloom and doom. Ronks The Amazing Maize Maze - As seen in Sports Illustrated for Kids, the Amazing Maize Maze is high on the list of "25 Cool Things To Do This Summer". Your kids will love trying to find their way out of a giant maze carved into a 5-acre corn field. The walls of the paths are made of giant corn stalks about 10 feet high. In addition to the maze, admission entitles you to all the regular farm activities such as hayrides, wagon rides, a hay chute giant slide, an obstacle course, a petting zoo, a bee hive observatory, plenty of games and much more. - Special Note: On November 2, 2007 and November 3, 2007, you will be able to experience the Amazing Maize Maze in spooky darkness. All you need is a few friends and some flashlights for a truly unique experience. The Flashlight Mazes will be held between 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Other activities include bonfires and wagon rides.
Harvest Roundup Festival - Celebrate the end of the season and Lancaster County's harvest. Special events for kids include Scarecrow-making, face-painting, pony rides, pumpkin painting, and pumpkin slinging. Trains and Troops - Trains & Troops is the Museum's annual tribute to the U. S. Armed Forces, American railroads and all those who served, and are serving, overseas and on the home front in defense of our nation. Experience a fascinating array of military and military railroad service-related archival posters, uniforms, equipment, field gear, maps, books and photographs on display from participating exhibitors, as well as from the Railroad Museum's own collection. You will get to enjoy riding the troop trains on the Strasburg Rail Road with living history re-enactments on both days. The special train will be comprised of a Strasburg Rail Road historic steam locomotive, a boxcar, a military flatcar from the Railroad Museum’s collection, two coaches and a caboose. - Location: Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 Gap Road, Strasburg, PA 17579

Day Out With Thomas - Join Thomas the Tank Engine, a full-sized, operating steam locomotive, as he chugs into town with his friends. Ride a train pulled by Thomas and meet Sir Topham Hatt.
