Lititz Events in 2009
Are you thinking about visiting charming Litiz, Pennsylvania but don't know when yet? Here are some of the special Lititz events that will be taking place throughout 2009. The dates, times, and admission prices are accurate as of the time of this posting. However, it is possible that changes may occur as the year progresses. Therefore, please check back periodically to see if there have been any updates. We will plan to list more events as information becomes available.
AMBUCS 16th Annual Arts and Craft Show: This annual day-long event showcases hand-crafted items, fine art, photography and so much more. The show is sponsored by the Lititz Chapter of AMBUCS which promotes the creation of mobility and independence for people with disabilities. The event is held rain or shine in the beautiful, historic Lititz Springs Park.
Lititz Historical Foundation’s Antique Show & Bake Sale: A popular, annual antique show.
Lititz Rotary Craft Show : The entire downtown area of Lititz will be closed to traffic to accommodate all of the dealers and visitors to one of the largest and most popular craft shows on the east coast.
Fall Antique Show and Sale: Annual provides a great opportunity to purchase some local treasures. Even if you don't buy anything, it is a lot of fun to browse through what's on display.
Village Art Association’s 42nd Annual Outdoor Art Show - Over 200 artisans will be displaying their work for show. Artists compete awards in fine art and sculpture. If you enjoy art, you will love this highly regarded art show, which is presented by the Village Art Association of Lititz. Art will also be available for purchase. This is one of the most enjoyable and most highly regarded art shows along the east coast, don’t miss it!
Artisans' Porchwalk - Sponsored By Moravian Manor, private porches and lawns throughout downtown Lititz will offer displays of fine art and crafts which will be available for purchase. There will also be an Chinese auction specializing in authentic Chinese crafts and artwork which will be held at the the Manor’s café and which will be open to the public..
Motorcycle Show- Rumble in the Park - Lititz Spring Park Motorcycle Show.In addtion to the show, there will be organized scenic ride from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There will also be live music and activities from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
Semi-Chocolate Stroll - Stroll through the halls of United Zion Retirement Community and taste great chocolate recipes. All proceeds will be donated to the Schreiber Pediatric Clinic. Spring Bazaar - Bring your family to the Annual UZRC Spring Bazaar. Anjoy homemade crafts, hot foods and baked goods all at great prices! All proceeds will benefit the United Zion Retirement Community. Second Annual Flea Market - Saturday Spring Fundraiser Event for Lititz Springs Park Lititz Spring’s Park. Holiday Bazaar - Homemade crafts as well as a large variety of country Christmas crafts, wreaths and ornaments all at great prices, plus great hot foods and homemade baked goods. All proceeds will benefit the United Zion Retirement Community.
Lititz Historical Foundation’s Evening of Music in the Gardens - Held in the lovely Mary Oehme Gardens, directly behind the Lititz Museum on Main Street, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tell people to bring their own lawn chair so they can comfortably enjoy beautiful, soothing music under the stars..
Lovin' Litiz Every Second! - A great way to see historic downtown Lititz, Pennsylvania is to visit on the second Friday of every month when the town erupts for a special celebration for everyone. Join downtown merchants in a lively evening of shopping, live music performances, art exhibits, poetry readings, jewelry shows, special dinner menus & local food tastings, and much more. Fire & Ice Festival - Enjoy this week-end long Lititz block party with a Winter Wonderland Carnival, on-site ice carvings, games, interactive activities, lots of great food and much more. Watch the live Ice Sculpturing of giant ice sculptures beginning at approximately 4:30 PM on Friday, February 15, 2008. Join the Friday Night Block Party from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM where there will be marshmallow roasts and other seasonal activities. Where the "ice" refers to the ice sculptures, the "fire" refers to the chili cook-off on Saturday, February 14, 2008 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Twenty Chefs will be available with proceeds going towards their designated charities. There will also be cooking demonstrations, entertainment, and fun & games for kids of all ages. The event will be held at Lititz Elementary School, 20 S. Cedar Street, just off Main Street. There is a $5 entry fee to sample all 20 chili's. Annual UZRC Street Fair - A night of fun and games will be had at this special sponsored by the Zion Retirement Community. Black Friday Weekend - Stroll along beautiful, historic downtown Lititz, where many shops, boutiques, and restaurants will offer special bargains and extended, late hour shopping on Friday night.
Family Farm Days - You entire family will have fun riding on authentic tractors and wagons, touring the local Pennsylvania Dutch barn and milking facility; petting animals on the farm zoo; witnessing chicks hatching and sheep being sheered; and, much more. Your children can even take pony rides and get lost in the specially built straw tunnels. Taste free samples and enjoy a Chicken BBQ Dinner, served on the retaurant's deck featuring chicken, applesauce, chips, roll and a drink. Music and Art with the Wolves - Live music, local artists and lots of fun for kids as well as the entire family. The 8th Annual Lititz Chocolate Walk - "Trick or Treat for grownups” is often how the Lititz Chocolate Walk has been described by visitors. During this one-of-a-kind experience, you can sample decadent delights prepared by local candy makers and pastry chefs. Over 20 chocolate tasting locations will be set up throughout downtown offering you chocolate treats as you stroll along enjoying the beauty and shops of downtown Lititz. There will also be live musical entertainment, a Chocolate Poetry Contest, and a Dark Chocolate Taste Test.
Downtown Lititz Farmers Market - The Downtown Lititz Farmers Market opening. Enjoy shopping for your fresh produce, meats, cheeses, flowers, etc. in the lively friendly atmosphere of the market.
Lititz Lions Club 63rd Easter Egg Hunt - Children in age will search for 3,500 hardboiled colored eggs donated by Sauders Eggs of Lititz. They will also search for 4,000 pieces of candy and 100 one-dollar special eggs, donated by the Lititz Lions. There will be a separate area set up for children with special needs. Lititz Lions 17th Annual Independence Day Parade - Annual parade sponsored by the Lititz Lions Club Entertainment. 192nd Fourth of July Celebration - Celebrate July 4th in the same place that hosted the first ever fourth of July celebration. Events include live music, annual baby parade, Queen of Candles Pageant, 7,000 candles illumination, hi-tech fireworks display and more. Lititz Lions Halloween Parade - Annual Halloween parade sponsored by the Lititz Lions Club. Christmas in the Park - Tree lighting and songfest in Lititz Springs Park. Hometown Christmas Weekend - Your entire family will have a blast during the Lititz Hometown Christmas Weekend. Santa will arrive and join in the festivities on Friday evening and his visiting hours for the holidays will start that night. On Saturday, December 5th, Santa and the Mrs. will take their traditional morning fire engine ride about town on the Lititz Fire Company's # 1 engine. The happy couple will then take up visiting hours for the rest of the holiday season. This event is sponsored by the Lititz Kiwanis Club. . Carol Sing at Moravian Church Square - Warm your spirits and join the townsfolk as they gather together to sing Christmas carols in front of the Moravian Sanctuary. Refreshments follow inside the church's social hall.
Annual Tour of Homes - Sponsored by the Lititz Woman’s Club, guests tour beautifully decorated homes, outfitted for the holidays by some of the area’s finest local interior designers and by the homeowners themselves.
