Ephrata Bed and Breakfasts

Many people choose to lodge at one of the Ephrata Bed and Breakfasts as a way of escaping from the noise and hectic pace of their daily routine.

Northern Lancaster County is known for its abundant agriculture. In fact, the name Ephrata comes from the word "fertile."

Ephrata is a great place to just get away from it all. However, don't get me wrong. There is plenty to see and do in this town situated along Route 322.

Most notable is the Ephrata Cloister which was a communal society founded in 1732 by Conrad Beissel, a German Pietist. By all means, don't miss this historic site with its unique collection of medieval style buildings.

Also worth visiting is The Artworks at Doneckers with its special collection of art and handcrafted items.

Moreover, you also won't want to miss the Green Dragon Farmers Market & Auction which is open every Friday. This is one of the best and most famous of the Lancaster Farmers Markets.

There is also the Ten Thousand Villages shopping complex which supplies a collection of crafts and handmade goods from all around the globe.

Also for shopping enthusiasts, Ephrata is very close to Adamstown which is one of the best places in the region to hunt for antiques.

Lodging at one of the Ephrata Bed and Breakfasts makes for a good base as you explore the history of the region; take advantage of some rare shopping opportunities; or, simply relax and enjoy the scenic landscape of northern Lancaster County.
